Fuzzy Adaptive Filtering-based Energy Management for Hybrid Energy Storage System

Regarding the problem of short driving distance pure electric vehicles, a battery, super-capacitor, and DC/DC converter are combined to form hybrid energy storage system (HESS). A fuzzy adaptive filtering-based management strategy (FAFBEMS) is proposed allocate required power vehicle. Firstly, state charge (SOC) super-capacitor limited according driving/braking mode vehicle ensure that it in suitable working state, rules designed adaptively adjust filtering time constant, realize reasonable allocation. Then, positive negative determined, average calculated so as limit amplitude protect battery. To verify FAFBEMS for HESS, simulations performed under UDDS (Urban Dynamometer Driving Schedule) cycle. The results show can effectively reduce current final SOC battery optimized varying degrees. consumption 7.8% less than rule-based strategy, 10.9% control 13.1% which verifies effectiveness strategy.
